In racially segregated Oklahoma, the Greenwood District, a thriving and wealthy community, built by black Americans in Tulsa, continues to flourish despite the envy and distrust of local white communities.
The brainchild of its founder, Henry J. Parkers, Greenwood quickly grows in influence to become known as the Black Wall Street. But his dream is about to become a nightmare, when his teenage son is accused of raping a white girl who is a lift operator in a local building.
As his son is arrested and tensions begin to rise, Henry discovers that it is the intention to hang him before any trial can take place.
Now, Henry must try to save him from the gallows and try to avoid a confrontation with the Ku Klux Klan who seek to destroy all that he has built.
Could this be the end for Greenwood and the community that has survived against the odds? And can Henry find a way to save his son before the hangman’s noose tightens around his neck?
